I finished my Veiga this week! This was one of those patterns where you’re already thinking about the next one you’re going to make. Such a fun and interesting knit and I LOVE the color play! I will for sure be making another one!

New to intarsia? This would be a great project to try!

I spent a glorious morning on the schooner J&E Riggin this morning with Bristol Ivy’s Maine Knitting Cruise! I intended to take lots of pictures for a fun reel but I instead I chatted with all the knitters! 🫣 if knitting and sailing and eating delicious food on the Maine coast is your jam- you should really look into this event for next year! Thanks for having me Bristol Ivy, knitwear designer and Schooner J. & E. Riggin | 1927!

Fourth color update! Some of you all wanted to see what I chose for the last color segment so here it is…. Good thing I did too because it wasn’t until I looked at this picture that I found TWO big ol’mistakes! Can you spot them? I’ll give you a second…

Answer: two of the green stripes are only 2 rows instead of 4.

Looks like I’ll be ripping back a bit! If I can easily fudge a mistake without changing the integrity of the design then I sure will. But if the mistake will hurt the finished knit, I’ll be fixing it. In this case, missing a row in two of the stripe sequences will mean my decreases happened too soon, making this side of the shawl shorter than the other. No biggie, I’ll rip it back this afternoon so I’m set up for my evening knitting.

But also, take pictures of your knits friends- it’s helps to create a new perspective. I would not have caught that otherwise!

I present to you my finished Grain Shawl! This was such a fun quick knit and honestly I love the size and drape. I matched my colors and stripes to the sample in the original design because I loved it so much- but you can easily play with color and size with this design. Perfect for newer knitters or if you’re looking to use up some leftovers!

The pattern is Grain by Alexa and Emily and is available on Ravelry. I knit mine in Hades, Lichen, Abalone, and Forage on Plush DK.

I haven’t had a relaxing Sunday knitting on the couch in a while! I needed this… My project this weekend is Veiga by Tejer en inglés. This project is so cute and cool and just the right amount of challenging and I’ve wanted to make it since its release!

I am using Cottage Fi*****ng, my non-superwash merino wool yarn base in the colorways Forest, Euphoria, Bone, and Hyssop.

I’m about to add my 4th color and I’m a little nervous- wish me luck!

The pattern is available on Ravelry and it’s incredibly well supported with written directions, charts, and QR Codes to tutorial videos at every step. If you’ve been curious about knitting intarsia, I highly recommend giving this cute kerchief a go!

Finally a day off! I am going to catch up on laundry and finish my latest fun knit- Grain by Alexa and Emily in Hades, Lichen, Abalone, and Forage on Plush DK.

This is a sample for the shop- I realized this summer I needed a few more beginner knitter projects for the knitting newcomers and it’s fun to do something simple in between more complicated projects!

Once I finish this up I get to tackle my Color of the Month project!

While I’m taking a day off, the shop is fully loaded with lots of ready to ship yarns and of course there is always dyed to order if you need more than what’s available. My dyed to order yarns ship in only 2-3 days of ordering so no long wait times.
