I have been sharing pictures recently of old work. Maybe I am trying to inspire myself. Some days i really feel like shutting the shop down and just painting to satisfy me.
This ceiling was a challenge for me, physically and mentally. It is in an Historic Home, The William Mason House in Thompson, CT
I went into this project feeling failure before the staging even went up. I was trying to paint something that was not in my comfort zone, at all. I recall first day on the job telling myself.....They contracted me, they like my style. So i painted it in my style.
Its a bunch of fat babies with wings some call Cherubs flying around in globs of cotton candy, that some call clouds. In the end, i felt very accomplished and really enjoyed how the colors appeared.
