An 1883 dress reform day dress I’ve been working on. Dress reform was all about bringing back the natural silhouette. This short lived trend freed women from bustles and corsets. The 1880’s also saw a fascination with insect inspired jewelry and fabric patterns.

I’m working on my own creative interpretation of the 1885 wrapper dress. It will have sleeves with brown cuffs, a wide brown sash, and a brown ruffle on the bottom with more trim. I’m making it for a good friend of mine.
