Kay Renée is a Toledo-based multidisciplinary artist, designer, and creative storyteller whose work lives at the intersection of fashion, sustainability, and self-expression. Since 2009, she has explored fashion through slow fashion, upcycling, and wearable art, believing that clothing should tell a story as meaningful
as the person wearing it.

Today, her creative focus centers on hand-knit garments and handbags, crafted freehand without patterns or needles, allowing each piece to emerge organically as a one-of-a-kind work of art. Her designs celebrate texture, individuality, and the beauty of intentional craftsmanship.

Beyond fashion, Kay is an accomplished poet, spoken word artist, event curator, jewelry artist, and creative visionary. Whether she is handcrafting a garment, electroforming jewelry, writing poetry, or producing community arts experiences, every medium becomes another language through which she explores identity, resilience, love, and transformation.

For Kay, art is never confined to one form, it is a way of living. Every stitch, every word, and every creation is an invitation to see beauty in authenticity and transformation.

I am Catherine (she/he), the artist behind rhea. I made my fashion design debut at Metamorphosis 2025, and I am so grateful to be bringing you more art at this year's show, which comes to you by much the same way I came to be me: by making do with less, by days spent in nature and at the library, and by equal parts of autism-induced anxiety and passion. when I am not obsessively hand-stitching, you can likely find me working at the greenhouse or in my garden at home, cuddling my beloved niece, writing song or prose, playing with one of my eleven cats, or cooking a meal for my found family.

Michelle is the owner and creator behind Clearly Weird, a small wearable art business that started with a love of tie dye and making things that are a little different.

What began as a creative outlet has grown into a business where she gets to make colorful, one of a kind clothing and bring creativity to people through tie-dye parties and workshops.

She loves anything bright, bold, funky, and unexpected-and especially loves giving thrifted and secondhand pieces a new life. To Michelle, there’s something fun about taking a piece that someone else overlooked and turning it into something completely different.

Her collection for this show, “After the Storm,” is deeply personal. Last year was a difficult one, filled with loss, change, and some pretty dark days. This collection represents coming through the storm and finding the color again. This year feels brighter, lighter, and full of possibility, a reminder that even after the hardest seasons, there can still be a beautiful rainbow waiting on the other side.

Through “After the Storm,” Michelle is bringing that feeling to the runway with bold color, unexpected combinations, thrifted pieces, and wearable art that celebrates finding your way back to yourself.
