Please tell me I’m wrong!

Thrifted this ceramic bible bookend and could hear something rattling inside while I was cleaning it up at home. The bottom had heavy felt on it. I felt a hole in the ceramic part through the felt and cut open.
I first thought it was sand with weird stuff, but after a google search I’m scared it was something else?

I bought this “pie safe” cupboard for $20 yesterday. Tim replaced the back with some extra wood we had and stained it.

It looks so nice! Rustic look and practical! I’ll post a pic of it in my dining room when I have it set in there. It will be storage for all my “project items”. I was surprised something so simple could turn out so perfect ❤️
