💔⚾ Today, I received the first "advice" email that has ever brought me to tears.
"Dear Coach, I coach an 8 year old Little League team. I have one kid who struggles with focus but a bigger problem with his parents. The problem I am having is that the parents are very hard on him with his inability to focus. At our first game on Saturday, his father was behind the fence while he was batting. He swung at a bad pitch and the dad yells "you just lost TV for that!". This poor child, my heart breaks for him. ..... How would you handle this situation?"
Parents. This truly breaks my heart.
There is no greater joy than watching your children do something they love. I love to just sit and watch my children do anything that puts a smile on their face and even more so at the field/gym. REGARDLESS if they're "succeeding" or not.
Before you know it, they'll be all grown up and the days at the ballpark, field or gym will be gone and if you're lucky you'll get to watch your grand kids do it.
Today, as your child heads off to practice or game...Remind them that you love them no matter how they perform. That whether they hit 4 home runs or strike out 4 times...you just love to watch them play.
