🎉 20 Under 40 Spotlight: Casey Richardson
Meet Casey Richardson, one of Topeka’s 20 Under 40 honorees!
Casey serves as General Manager and Director of Operations at West Ridge Mall, where she oversees operations, redevelopment projects, tenant relations, public safety and community engagement for one of Topeka’s most recognizable properties. She stepped into the role at just 26 and now leads a team of approximately 20 employees while helping guide the mall through a significant transformation.
🏗️ Reimagining a Topeka landmark:
For Casey, West Ridge Mall is more than a building. It’s a place filled with memories of first jobs, family traditions and milestones—and an opportunity to create new ones. Through redevelopment, community events, nonprofit partnerships, job fairs and family activities, she is helping transform the property into a place where people can once again gather, connect and invest in their community.
❤️ Giving back:
Casey serves on the Capper Foundation Board of Trustees, supporting its mission to empower individuals with disabilities and expand access to opportunities. She has also volunteered as a Big Sister through Big Brothers Big Sisters and serves on the Washburn Rural High School Business Advisory Board—investing her time in mentorship and the next generation.

Casey believes leadership isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about showing up consistently, building trust and helping people believe in what’s possible. During a time of significant change at West Ridge Mall, she has focused on creating collaboration and optimism while making sure tenants, employees and community partners feel heard and invested in what comes next.
Whether she’s coordinating a major redevelopment project, supporting a local business, planning a community event or mentoring someone one-on-one, Casey’s goal remains the same: leave Topeka stronger than she found it.
