Before 7-Eleven and Slurpees, every neighborhood had a local place you could grab what you needed and in Topsfield, MA the place to go was Gil’s Grocery.

From Coca-Cola, to charcoal, picnic supplies, and beer delivered by Anheuser-Busch out of St. Louis, Missouri you could grab what you needed. Gill’s son and family took over the store from his dad, Elbridge “Gilly” Gilford, so if you ever find yourself near Topsfield, you can still grab a Coke!

What do you miss about shopping at neighborhood stores like Gil’s that you don’t get from a 7-Eleven today?

If you’d like to make this photograph part of your collection, pleas

While The Teddy Bears' Picnic has been partying in the woods since 1907, the bears on this 1983 Bialystock sticker have been partying for 43 years and are still going strong 🧸

I have so many more totally rad stickers from the 80s and 90s to share both here and on Etsy. Be sure to STICK around.

Did you collect stickers? How did you store your collection?

Happy National Kitten Day from Smudge, just six months old and already posing like he owns Mrs. Lowe’s house in the background. 🐾

This little guy – the photo, NOT the actual cat 🐈‍⬛ is available and looking for a new place to call home. Contact me to add Smudge to yours.

For the first time in my life, I’m eligible for the IHOP 55+ menu.

I have never been so personally attacked by pancakes.

I have a Cardiologist appointment later today, and I am SURE he would prefer I go with healthier choices like these vintage school nutrition flash cards from the fifties. But honestly . . . I am not a fan of cottage cheese or whole milk, and personally think the cardboard would probably taste better.

Today is National Fashion Day, so my Grandma May gets the spotlight.

She died before I was born, so I never had the chance to know her. Having a photo like this feels like finding a missing piece of my personal puzzle.

And check her out!

Her tailored jacket and plaid skirt. The hat and scarf. She’s standing on a boat like she stepped out of a late 1930s fashion page.

This one is not for sale. It is from my family’s private collection, which I only recently got access to.

If you could borrow a closet from any decade, which one would you choose . . . and what would be the first piece you’d grab?

𝑨𝒗𝒐𝒊𝒅 𝒂 𝑺𝒉𝒆𝒆𝒕𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒘!

I bought three external hard drives at a community yard sale for $10. Before I bought them, I asked if they had been wiped. I was told yes.

They had not.

I'm not opening anything because it's none of my business. I'm doing a secure wipe, which takes hours, before I even think about using them.

If you're selling, donating, or recycling a hard drive, computer, phone, USB drive, or memory card . . . please make sure it's actually wiped.

Deleting files isn't the same as wiping a device, and your privacy is worth the extra effort.

I’ve been quiet for a bit because I’ve been trying to bring order to the chaos so I can push through and start listing more.

I would love to find someone in the NYC metro area who works with photos and/or ephemera and would let me spend a day or two working for them FOR FREE!

My goal isn’t to copy what they’re doing, but to see what actually works for one person, (maybe several), and figure out how I can apply the parts that fit not only to my space, but would work with my brain.

Different kinds of items require different kinds of organization.

What’s your biggest challenge when it comes to processing and organizing your inventory?

When I saw my family on Sunday, my aunt gave me photographs of our family. Really old photographs. They are just like the ones I rescue, but now instead of holding someone else’s past, I was holding pieces of my own. Days later, I still feel overwhelmed, and I continue to process my emotions.

I have something called aphantasia which means I do not have visual memory or mental images. I can’t create pictures in my head like when someone says close your eyes and picture yourself on the beach . . . I just see black. And because almost all of the images in my nuclear family were destroyed by a narcissist family member, I am left with tiny pieces of my past that I only feel through emotions. Now I have pictures. Something tangible. For the first time, I can actually *see* chapters from my own story.

After scanning everything, I transferred the photos to acid-free sleeves with backing boards. They are now safe in one of the index card boxes I use in my attempt to be organized. I still have a lot to unpack, but now I know have a deeper understanding of my “why” so as I continue searching for photos to save, I can also tell my own.

Well, this is going to be a sheetshow.

USPS is making several rate and rule changes starting July 12, 2026, and Pirate Ship has a clear breakdown of what is changing.

Changes include:
Ground Advantage pricing changes for lightweight shipments
Rate increases for some under-1 lb non-continental shipments
USPS rounding package dimensions up to the next whole inch
Larger maximum dimensions for Cubic Rating
Ground Advantage Cubic Softpack tier changes
Lower DIM weight divisor
Higher overweight/oversize fees
New hazardous materials non-compliance fees

I use Pirate Ship for my shipping labels. Accounts are free, and there are no charges except for the discounted postage I purchase. This is not a referral or sponsored post . . . I am just a customer who has always been pleased with their services.

I converted Pirate Ship’s update into images since I can’t attach the PDF here, so swipe through for the details before shipping after July 12.
