Not every outing needs to be an expedition.

Found this gem of a spot not 5 minutes from my folks house.

The smallest backpack made by HOWDY! still fits the iPad // notebook // water bottle // snacks.

It’s almost easier to design a $300 backpack with all the features. Designing for $100, and delivering a super functional pack, is something I’m quite proud of.

Ya know, backpacks are a high value bag. So capable and ready for adventure, they are, by far, my favorite bag style.

Making a school backpack, and inviting the kids to design and help sew their bag, is a transformative experience. They get to choose the colors (kids love to make decisions), and learn how to safely and confidently use tools. Each time they pick up their bag, I hope it’s a little reminder that they are capable, creative people with something to say.

Still sewing, but everything else is always changing.

Moved out of the Woodside studio and into a collaborative shop space with my Dad. One half woodworking, one half sewing. Stoked on the opportunity to jam with my pops, but I do miss old 1115.

Putting together a few workshops for this fall, once the kiddos are back in school. Prepping for Indie Craft in September - get ready for all the backpacks, including this little number!

Just found out I was featured in Crafted With Pride again this year. It’s the best reference for quality gear, made in the US, and it’s such an honor to be a part of that community. If you buy gifts for people, this book is your secret weapon to find the good good.
