As the season begins to turn, we’re excited to reintroduce Skali; blankets, towels, and textiles for home, travel, sauna, and wherever else you like to get cozy.
Inspired by the Icelandic word skáli, meaning hut or communal gathering place. Skali is about the simple luxury of having somewhere good to land. A place to rest. A place to warm up. A place to gather, linger, eat something excellent, and perhaps take a nap.
The collection moves into fall with deep, saturated oranges and blues; colors that feel grounded and friendly, alongside icy blues that bring a little clarity and energy to the mix. Think changing skies, volcanic landscapes, long tables, cold air, warm interiors, and the particular pleasure of wrapping yourself in something beautiful after being outside.
This season, explore our organic cotton waffle weave, gauze, and organic cotton channel-stitch throws, linen sauna towels, and more. Thoughtfully made textiles designed to travel well and live beautifully.
The collection takes its name from Baldvinsskáli, a mountain hut high on Iceland’s famous Fimmvörðuháls trail. For hikers making the journey between Skógar and Þórsmörk, it is a place to arrive after a long day on the trail and, for many, a spectacular final night in the mountains.
It’s one of my favorite mountain huts in the world. I’ve often thought I’d love to be its caretaker someday, welcoming inspired, slightly weary travelers from around the world. For now, our five-year-old pup, Vinskali, carries the name.
Vinnie is a good, loyal pal: always up for an adventure, excellent company for a long nap, and reliably ready to get back up and do it all again.
