If at first you don’t succeed, sometimes you need to try again.. and again.. aaand again.
After 3 years of leather working, I’m definitely still fairly new to the craft. And am still learning and working on improving with every piece I make.. sometimes it takes me several tries until it fits the standard I hold myself to. This phone case in particular gave me a run for my money.
Attempt 1- I was nearly finished dying when my finger had dye on it and I accidentally touched the project and immediately there was no going back. Unfortunately I had to start over..
Attempt 2- I had cleaned my work space thoroughly but somehow some left over dye found its way to my hand and got on my fresh project before I even finished carving the design in. After some strong debating if I could turn it around somehow and still salvage it, I decided to once again start over.
Attempt 3- Trying to get this piece to fit the phone case was not working out this time. I was not satisfied with the look of the fit, it was trimmed too much. At this point I decided to step away and come back later with a fresh mind.
Attempt 4- Finally I was able to finish the case and was happy with the end result!
I love this craft, and being able to make beautiful pieces for myself, my family and friends, and all my incredible customers! And if it’s taught me anything I can use the rest of my life, it’s patience and endurance. Thank you Kallie from Ohio for allowing me to make this phone case for you! 🤍✨
