the other pair of the spring painting, they’re meant to look for each other when hung in one room. this portrait is representative of myself now with my current love Eddie. he is my first dog ever & I never thought I would have so much love with him, but I do. loving an animal so much comes with much anticipatory grief! I am finding that pondering this is fruitful & helps me love him fully in every moment we have together. this painting was a meditation on those thoughts & feelings (& a good excuse to use this sublime song). enjoy (‘:

another favorite from this spring. I wanted this to be reminiscent of how my hair was when I was younger. one of my earliest experiences with death have been my family’s cats over the last 29 years, so in painting this i feel like i was still literally holding onto those memories. spring for the title is referring to the spring of our lives (childhood) & i wanted it to feel like it was bathed in early sunrise colors to push that idea of beginning further. 🌞
