Today is my 20th wedding anniversary with this guy. Over the years, we have seen triumphs, heartaches, and everything in between. However, the sense of clarity I claim that we are on this adventure of life together makes every memory we have accumulated together worthwhile. When I made a covenant with this man all those years ago, I didn’t know he would call forth the best version of myself. Having the privilege to grow in strength and unity with him has been one of the greatest joys of my life. This bond of marriage with him has seen some stumbling roadblocks, but because this teammate of mine demands me to be more of myself, not less, this connection is seemingly indestructible. As I reflect on who I want to be in another 20 years, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that it is by his side.​​​​​​​​

I celebrate that our bond has grown so much that we created two other human beings to manifest that love. And since life is an accumulation of memories, I couldn’t imagine life without my family. Thank you, Donovan (and my girls), for being you and for growing yourself and cherishing me. Thank you for reaching deep and loving hard. Thank you for your loyalty and devotion. I pray that the next 20+ years are filled with blessings beyond measure.​​​​​​​​

This wedding was simple yet beautiful—the baby's breath shown like eyelet lace, blooming in all its grace. When I gaze at each bud, it reminds me that these flowers are one way I can learn to experience the love of God. ​​​​​​​​

I gaze at this picture and remember the day I delivered them. I can feel the love of God in the sunshine pouring in from the window, delight in His love as I run my fingers across the delicate blooms of each baby's breath bud, and embrace the love of God in the gentle breeze that stirred the air from the open door just beyond the frame of this picture. ​​​​​​​​

This is my youngest daughter, Marin, and she is my creative child. She spends her time writing, painting, and designing flowers with me.​​​​​​​​

She told me a couple of months ago that she thinks one day she wants to take over , my wedding flower company. I almost started crying when she told me. All the years I have spent sowing into my business and knowing she might take those efforts and multiply them. It makes me feel like the sweat and the tears I have invested in will continue. Since her expressed interest, I have taught her the why's and how's of my business decisions.​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
Because of her interest, I have invited her to join me at for their Fall Open House. While there, we will socialize with other vendors in the wedding industry and, most importantly, chat with brides who are getting married. ​​​​​​​​

Today is Mr. Mayberry's birthday! He took a long time deciding what he wanted for his birthday dessert. He whittled his list down to birthday cake or coconut cream pie at the last moment. Ultimately the pie won out. 🤤🥧​​​​​​​​

I read this passage yesterday, and it made me think of a family vacation we took to the Grand Canyon a few years ago. I don't know about you, but I want to encounter God on this path in life. I don't want it just to be a pebble under my feet; I want it to be a boulder more enormous than I am. I don't want only to hear a bit of crunching under my feet. I want His presence and direction to assault all my senses- just like hiking in the canyon. I want my stone to be so big I have to climb it.

Mine is coffee…definitely! It is like a hug in a mug. So, today, grab your favorite cup of joe, seize a book, and snuggle up!​​​​​​​​

The book I grabbed was algebra 😩. I homeschool my daughters, and just because it is snowing doesn’t mean they get the day off. Well, our co-op was canceled. But, hey, the unexpected day off still proved eventful because we were behind a lesson in math. Not anymore! Even Maddy the cat joined us. Marin, my youngest daughter can't be left out! She brightens up my life with her s***k and wit. She always has a ready smile and an easy laugh. She tends to be the life of the party and has plenty of good spirit and jokes in her back pocket.

The end-of-year homeschool party was celebrated with a 50s themed dress-up skating party . She coordinated dress styles with her friend Audrey (swipe to see). We spent the day getting ready at our house while I watched YouTube videos on how to style a victory curl hairdo. Let me tell 'ya; there was a cloud of hairspray that followed in their wake.

The weather can't make up its mind. One day it is bright and sunny, and I can haul my succulents outside to soak up some much-needed rays of sunshine. I have to keep watch because the next day can be bitterly cold. Today, however, was bright and beautiful, and the plants that I am trying to winterize inside hitched a ride outside.
