What I thrifted and how I repurposed it. I found a square heavy glass bowl. I passed it up until I found a squared raised platter with sides. My brain automatically thought, “fruit bowl!”

I love recycling and mostly repurposing! I also love dumpster/curb diving. It’s amazing what people will throw away. All of this came from curb diving (except the small pinecones) before big trash pickup! Thanks Micah for letting me loot your donation boxes! The little lights are adorable. Hopefully the solar feature will work; if not, it looks good in the daylight!

I picked up this forgotten piece at a thrift store. And like always with the cheap pieces I get, there is a tone of repair work due to it being stored outside. I’m always up for the task, or so I think. So much pain last night due to working (removing all hardware, and doors, gluing, clamping, sanding), but I can’t wait to see her done. Im always amazed when I see others tutorials showing them painting without removing doors, drawers, or hardware. The only parts I’m not removing is the glass. I will be taping off, because the person who redid it last glued, screwed and stapled the glass frame in. The glass is so fragile (hence the taped glass) that I didn’t dare try to remove.
The first thing I did with Clint’s help is saw off the bottom part. I was going to add a shelf, but the spindles and bottom part were so deteriorated that I opted not to. The top board was pieced together, so will be replacing that too.
This piece will mount on the wall in hubbies office for his model car collection.

This has to be my most ambitious repurposed sweater stocking to date. My newest, oldest granddaughter loves cats, so I started with this cat Christmas sweater that was non-functional. I was just about to cut all the wires off when I thought of my brilliant SIL Christian. He has been known to fix anything.
Well, he did; and it changed my design completely. By keeping the wires where they were at, I had to make this one stocking bigger than the rest. I still had to “alter” the tail a bit. ☺️ It was hard to cut and then sew around all the wires. I just knew I was going to ruin it at any moment.

I've had this old photo album cabinet for many years. Its been in my shop for several years waiting to be repainted. I finally got to it! All that's lacking is to take new photos to put in the five frames that make up the door and put the small albums back! Darla Selzler Welchel

Latest redo. Note to self: slat chairs are a pain to get ready; just when I think I am done sanding, I find more places I missed! Two types of sanders, hand sanding and a final wipe down with denatured alcohol and I’m finally ready to paint! Color a surprise! Spraying these!

Another of my dumpster diving treasures. For a long while this has just sat in my shop, because I was afraid to try the tole painting. After pinning numerous examples and watching a vid I gave it a go!
The chair was weather worn, so I started by sanding. I chose to leave the cracks. Next I re-stained a dark mahogany. Then I tackled the painting. I drew my design with chalk. This was a questionable choices as the lines not covered with paint were hard to get off, but I prevailed. Finally I gave the whole chair (underside as well, as it will be outside) a generous coating of hand-rubbed pole urethane!
