It’s been so long that I almost forgot how much I love making custom tooled belts.

From creating the pattern to laying down the tooling and putting the final burnish on the edges, this one was a blast from start to finish. There’s just something about taking a blank piece of leather and turning it into something completely one-of-a-kind.

I guess as long as Pinterest exists, my wife will keep sending me ideas like this tooled phone stand. And honestly, I’m not mad about it.

A little more progress on the center console cover today!

This has easily become one of the biggest tooling projects I’ve taken on over the years, but with plenty of patience and tackling it one section at a time, it’s really starting to come together.

All that’s left on this side is the backgrounding, then it’s time to flip it over and do it all again. Looking forward to seeing the finished piece!

Did somebody say merch? 👀

With the Oklahoma heat cranked up this past week, I spent more time inside than usual putting together some shirt and sticker designs that represent the brand—clean, subtle, and made for everyday wear.

This design will be the first one to hit the printer, and I couldn’t be more excited to share it.

As soon as I make sure the print quality is exactly where I want it, these shirts (with more designs on the way) will be available at heelerleather.com.

Not every project has to be big and extravagant. Sometimes it’s as simple as modifying a set of suspenders to fit a new pair of bunker pants.

Color matching well-worn leather can be a challenge, but fortunately this customer preferred the darker dye—and it turned out great. 👌
