A terrific day here in Samoa. Our project lead Sina Tovio and the team have been taking nutrient-rich compost from our compost boxes at our Poutasi site ready for maturation and testing.

For every 100 babies in the project, each week 700 kg of plastic diaper waste is eliminated, 105kg of nutrient-rich compost is generated and 4 part-time jobs for women in the community are created.

This is a long way from the status quo. According to SPREP, the Pacific uses 815,000,000 diapers each year. With limited formal waste infrastructure, most of them end up in the ocean or are disposed of in the environment.

Kim Graham-Nye & I are thrilled that we are now operating in two countries with Tuvalu's launch last month. The compost there is looking just as good, under the leadership of LinaLosa Peleti - Fa'afetai Lasi Lasi!

The good wife, Kim Graham-Nye is hoping to attend SXSW in Austin, Texas next year to present our project's funding innovation to eliminate plastic waste at source.

This will be with our partners, PCX Solutions (and their Alternative Material Certificates) along with our philanthropic partner, Amy Dornbusch from AtlasDaughters.

To do so, we need your vote in the link below!

Many thanks in advance! Fa'afetai Lasi 🇹🇻
