SouthWood is proud to have played a role in the transformation of The Thread in Rock Hill, SC — a visionary adaptive reuse project that honors its textile mill past while weaving new life into the heart of Knowledge Park.

From oversized needle sculptures to vibrant identity signage, our team helped bring this creative destination to life with signage that reflects its rich history and bold future.

Bold signs for bold spaces. 💥

SouthWood is proud to have partnered on the signage for 704 at The Quarter, a dynamic new mixed-use development in Charlotte’s South End. Our scope included:

🔹 Three-sided blade signs with channel letters and mesh panels

🔹 Small blade signs with mesh panels

🔹 Channel letters

🔹 Layered acrylic FOH signage with digitally printed patterns

🔹 Code-compliant unit IDs with stud-mounted acrylic numbers and braille plaques

Located just minutes from I-77 and downtown, 704 at The Quarter connects residents to Charlotte’s urban core with unmatched access to retail and entertainment.

Rooted in the past, rising into the future. ✨

The rooftop signage is now in place at Commonwealth at The Plaza—a nod to the bold, retro character that makes Plaza Midwood so iconic.

This was more than just an install—it was a carefully coordinated lift, requiring preplanning, precision, and a deep respect for the neighborhood’s unique spirit. The signs were designed to complement the area’s vintage charm while setting the stage for the bold new chapter ahead.

Once complete, Commonwealth will bring over 12 acres of walkable community to life—offering space to eat, sleep, work, shop, and play—all in a way that honors the eclectic soul of Charlotte’s past while embracing its future.

Our SouthWood team had a wonderful time volunteering yesterday at Back the Pack for The Foundation for Rock Hill Schools. We love supporting this incredible program, which helps ensure over 850 students can start each week without hunger as a

Back the Pack is not only about feeding students—it’s about empowering youth through hands-on workforce development. Through the Logistics & Distribution Course, students are learning valuable skills in warehousing, inventory control, and distribution—all while making a tangible impact on their community.

We’re proud to be part of such a meaningful initiative, and we look forward to helping again soon!
