🏥 Solidarity in Scrubs: We Stand with Our Healthcare Heroes
The heart of our community is pulsing at the picket line today—and that includes the heart of Papaya Pals. ✊🩺
💔As the founder of Papaya Pals and a registered nurse currently on strike with UNAC/UHCP, this fight is personal. I’m out here with my colleagues because we know that the “care” in healthcare starts with making sure those providing it are supported, respected, and safe.
We are standing in firm solidarity with the nurses, pharmacists, therapists, and medical professionals striking for the dignity we—and our patients—deserve.
Why we’re standing strong:
• Safer Staffing: Patient safety should never be a gamble. We need ratios that allow us to provide the care we were trained to give.
• Manageable Workloads: “Heroism” shouldn’t be an excuse for exhaustion. We are fighting to end the cycle of excessive burnout.
• Fair Wages & Benefits: Our specialized skills and dedication to our patients must be reflected in fair compensation.
I am proud to stand with my union. When we use our collective voice, we aren’t just fighting for ourselves—we’re fighting for the safety and future of every patient who walks through our doors.
To my fellow UNAC/UHCP members and all healthcare workers on the line: We see you, we are you, and we stand with you. 💪
