BERNINA Boot Camp is a Wrap

SEW NICE recently hosted one of Bernina of America’s most widely requested customer training programs. The four day boot camp was held at The Master’s Building on the Wyandot County Fairgrounds.

Sylvain Bergeron, a 30-year employee of Bernina of America, educated and entertained 40 Bernina owners with his incredible in-depth knowledge of all things Bernina.

Owners brought their 4, 5, 7, 8, and 9 series machines and learned about unique features and capabilities, along with tips, tricks and innumerable settings that assist in making sewing on a Bernina even easier and more fun. He shared shortcuts in the use of the Berninas and spoke about fabric handling, correct needle and thread combinations, warrantees, firmware updates, software and much, much more including the history of this successful family-owned company in Switzerland.

Bergeron, a self proclaimed “edu-tainer,” injects personal stories and humor to keep the intense boot camp information a bit more light. Bergeron uses lecture, video, Bernina machine simulators and demonstrations to convey his information.

Boot camp took place Monday through Thursday from 9:00 until 4:00. Lunch, snacks and beverages were available through the day and several valuable door prizes were given away.

According to Bergeron, this Sew Nice Bernina Boot Camp was the second largest community event of this type and he credits the positive relationships between Heidi McLane, owner of Sew Nice, and her many customers. This year, Sew Nice celebrates 40 years in business in Upper Sandusky.

Unwrap Joy all Season Long with the Sew Nice Advent Box

At the most recent monthly Sewing Club, details were announced for the first-ever Advent Box designed by Sew Nice. For this first year, only 20 Advent Boxes are available. Curated by Megan and Maria, 25 specially-selected gifts have been chosen to be included and each one ties in with the sewing theme; many of these gifts will be personalized, making each box even more special. A sprinkle of local flavor will also be included making these one-of-a-kind Advent Boxes truly unique. It was important to find gift items that sewists typically would not already have in their sewing studios. These unique items have not yet been carried in our shop. Some are new to the sewing industry and some have been created just for Sew Nice.
Special attention was given to sourcing quality items at affordable prices to make these boxes a great value for the recipients and another great product for Sew Nice. Our Advent Box is filled with items including unique notions, projects, and custom gifts. We’ve created the perfect gift for you or the sewist in your life.
The Advent Box is similar in concept to the Advent Calendar. Each day, beginning on December 1st, the lucky recipient of the Advent Box opens one gift. Each gift is numbered, wrapped and includes a little note. On Christmas morning, the final gift is opened.
The Advent Boxes are priced at $325 each and are valued at significantly more. Place your non-refundable $125 deposit by October 1st to secure your box. Payment plans are available or pay in full! The second payment of $100 is due 10/15/2026; and the third payment of $100 is due 11/5/2026. We will send notifications for pick-up near the end of November.
