Starting my life over at 36 was definitely not on my bingo card.

But here we are 😂

The last few years have been a wild ride. So much change, so many lessons, a lot of starting over.

But one thing I’ve always come back to is this.

Moving my body.

It’s my therapy. My stress relief. The one hour where I get out of my own head.

50% physical.
50% mental.

So imagine hating me while I’m literally just over here trying to figure life out and become the best version of myself 😅🤍

This is Brixton.

He can spend hours completely immersed in something he’s passionate about. He notices details most people miss, asks a million questions, and has a brain that’s always moving.

A few years ago, he was diagnosed with ADD.
Something I haven’t shared much about because I was still trying to understand it myself.

For a long time, I focused on the challenges. But the older he gets, the more I see the gifts.
His brain isn’t broken. It just works differently.
One thing I’ve learned is that the adults in a child’s life matter. We’ve been incredibly fortunate to have teachers who truly understood Brixton (shout out to Mrs. Song!) and celebrated the way he learns. We’ve also experienced the opposite. And I’ve realized that a teacher can shape a child’s confidence the same way a coach can shape an athlete.

Every child deserves to be seen for who they are, not who we expect them to be.

If you’re raising a child with ADD or ADHD, I’d love to hear what makes your child uniquely brilliant. ❤️
