Owning a small business is never boring. 😅

Today's plan? Have everyone come in to paint... (news coming soon).

Then I woke up to a message about some store fixtures for sale, so plans changed. We rented a U-Haul, piled everyone in, and drove 30 miles away... only to discover it didn't work out and were far too heavy to move. Cue the empty U-Haul ride home, a little wasted time, and some money spent for nothing.

But here's the funny thing about small business ownership....sometimes the "failed" days end up being some of the best ones.

We had great conversations, drove down 61st in Lake County and saw the aftermath of the tornado in June, saw how their community continue to rebuild, and then down the road spotted the site of a new, much larger data center. Work for the store still got done, just not the way we planned.

Running a small business is full of unexpected detours, last-minute pivots, and plenty of hiccups. But it's also filled with memories, incredible community support, and opportunities I'm genuinely grateful for.

I wouldn't trade the adventure for anything. ❤️
