My daughter picked out this layer cake and the quilt pattern and I have never done stars before. I'm very frustrated. I also think my 1/4" seams are ending up more or something because the block is supposed to finish at 12.5" and this first one is around 12.25", barely. I ordered the 1/4" foot because maybe the seam tape line I put on my machine isn't accurate. How do I better match the points? Also the layer cake squares have pinked edges and it seems some aren't exactly a full 10" so when I need to cut four 5" squares they're the teensiest bit smaller.

Any advice or helpful tricks?

This started as “just a way to use leftover fabric”… and somehow turned into one of my favorite quilts. My husband walked by and said, “You’re really keeping every tiny scrap, aren’t you?” I guess he was right. Do you save your scraps too?

I finally finished this one, but someone told me the yellow sashing was "too bold" and that it took attention away from the prints. Ever since hearing that, I've been second-guessing every fabric choice and wondering if I should've gone with something more subtle. Am I overthinking it, or do you think it works? 💛

It took two months of dedication, and even though I had plenty of doubts at the start, the final result surprised me in a wonderful way! I am absolutely delighted! 💖
