The Steel Goat got hit hard from the storm, on this past Foodie Friday night. We are BABS RAGGS BAKES! My husband and I go early because we need to get our delicious homemade meatball and hot sausage sandwiches, and Lasagne started cooking for you to enjoy! The storm was looming as we got it all set up! As I always say, we don’t have a truck…Yet! So, My big blue tent was up and all the roasters and crocks plugged in, turned on, food was set to go, cause this girl, this girl…CAN COOK! 😅 We had all the tables set with all the paper products too, and to go containers, just everything we need to send you home with all the goodies! All of a sudden, when I looked up, the sky got black and was rushing towards us. We hurried to put the walls up on the tent, so that everything would stay dry, it was not to be! The lightening storm crashed all around us, Scariest thing we have ever been outside for. We had to abandon the tent, and all our food and supplies, yet so grateful it didn’t rip off the weights and end up on Rodi rd to hurt someone, and grateful that we could escape inside The Goat. We watched as the rain and wind, and lightening took down our tent. Down, but not out! We had wonderful help from friends, Susan and Debbie and Rio (another vendor, who makes delicious lemonade)!
We lost everything but the meatballs, so that’s what we rolled with (see what I did there)…
We will be back at it, and stronger for it, next week for Foodie Friday, ready to serve up some good home cookin’!!! Stop and see us, but don’t look for our big blue tent, it went right to the trash can, I think we will wait to get a new one next year… gonna go for a new look 🇮🇹, Thank you for sharing our post, and supporting local, small business, and don’t forget to go inside the Steel Goat Marketplace for all kinds of great items from 100’s of vendors! Down, but not out! Stop to see us Friday 5-8.
