👗🪡💁‍♀️New to the Attic this week- we’ve got a variety of fall fashions in stock- some upcycled, some sourced, all looking for a new home! We also restocked scrap fabric bundles as those were flying off the shelf! ⭐️Thrift Tip Tuesday⭐️
End of summer is a great time to declutter your space, and what better way to do so than by donating your gently used goods and clothing! You can do one big clear out or have a permanent “donation station” that is both convenient and mobile-such as a storage tote by the door- either is a great way to get stuff out of your house. The key tip is to take it and drop it once it’s full! Once you put it in the car you need to have the plan to drop it off that day- otherwise we all know it now lives in your car forever. So drop it off THAT day! You’ll thank yourself! 😉 ❤️Happy thrifting!❤️

⭐️Thrift Tip Tuesday⭐️ I personally love thrifting for gift wrap. You can find such unique and fun wrapping paper, gift bags, bows and ribbon for a fraction of the cost to buy it new. Sometimes even vintage designs! And you can find really high quality papers (and even brand new full rolls!) that won’t rip like tissue paper when you’re wrapping. I found a roll of the cutest balloon dog paper the other day for only a $1.00! So don’t skip the gift wrap section when you’re out and about! ❤️Happy Thrifting!❤️

⭐️Thrift Tip Tues(Wednes)day!⭐️
Handmade candles are a beautiful way to freshen up your home or give a unique gift.  Thrift stores often have a ton of vintage glassware that would make the perfect vessel for one of these items.
It is important though to know some safety tips before choosing the ideal candle container. 
• if glassware says heat resistant, tempered, or is at least 3MM thick it is a good candidate.
• do not use anything with cracks, bubbles, chips, or thin glasses like wine glasses. These are more likely to shatter from heat.
• you can test your glassware in a few ways. 1) you can do a temperature shock test using boiling water (you can look this up online) but that sounds terrifying to me so another option is 2) use your oven for a slow heat test. Set the temperature to 170° to 180° and place your vessel inside for 15-20 minutes. This mimics the gradual warming that a candle would have. Then let it cool slowly to room temp and if it hasn’t cracked, you’re probably good to go.

So this one is for the hardcore thrifters (or the super adventurous). This Saturday Aug 8 is the annual Route 11 Yard Crawl- 43 miles of antiquing/thrifting/flea market/Yardsale goodness to explore and indulge in! I’ve pulled info from the official FB page (give them a follow!) to help make your trip a success if you give it a go!
Want to beat the crowds? A pro-thrifter told me that lots of folks are set up on Thursday and Friday so you can go check it out. ❤️Happy thrifting!❤️

⭐️Thrift Tip Tuesday⭐️
Life happens- you get busy, your thrift budget is capped for the month, you’re saving up for something special/necessary but you really, really, REALLY, want to go thrifting! What do you do? Well, as I’ve said before, you shouldn’t feel obligated to buy anything when you’re out and about- looking can be just as fun and you can make it a game with your friends or family! “Find the weirdest thing that is orange!” Or “Ugliest Cat item” Or “Find a portrait and give them a backstory”. And if you think you’ll still be too tempted, you can stay home and treat yourself to a thrift haul videos. A lot of times you can get some real insight and tips from those too! ❤️Happy Thrifting❤️
