Planning ahead! Are you the type of person who gives cookies every year at the holidays? Or maybe a person who has 20 different sets of teachers, friends, coworkers etc to give them to? Stocking up on “out of season” items to package those goodies in is a great way to save money and help the planet! Tina not your thing? Look for bulk deals on serving plates. Deals like these pop up on marketplace all the time so keeping an eye out (and planning for storage until they’re needed) is a great way to be set up for success! ❤️Happy Thrifting!❤️

Sing it with me now, “Plug it in, plug it in!”
Thrifting for electronics can be a great way to find unique pieces and help the planet, but make sure you have a keen eye. Inspect them throughly, particularly at stress points for plugs. Look for loose wires and prongs, and test it in an outlet before you leave the store. Doesn’t make a noise it really shouldn’t be? Vintage electronics also mean vintage plugs so make sure it will be compatible with your home (and again-safe!)- will it plug in? Can you get bulbs for that cute vintage lamp still? If it’s a project piece, then maybe it’s a pass this time. ❤️Happy Thrfiting!❤️

Adopt, don’t shop! Ok- this is a little out there but stay with me- People don’t usually think of adopting a new pet as “thrifting” but is it really that different ?😂 Think about it- A one of a kind find at a fraction of the cost of a designer, something that fits right in your home and goes with everything, a great way to support your community, and unlike an inanimate object this treasure will give you love back. So if you’re thinking of getting a pet, please check out your local shelters and adoption groups!

You know what fabrics you like to wear and what feels good on your skin, so you can save yourself some time by training your fingers for textures. If you don’t like the feel of polyester or acrylic, you can learn to flip right past those without having to look for a tag. Also, natural fibers like cotton, linen, and wool last longer- meaning you get a whole lot more wear out of these items. ❤️Happy Thrifting!

One often over looked area when thrifting is the “return rack” or “put back racks”. Many times these spots are goldmines of unexpected and quality finds left behind by other seasoned thrifters. It’s like they’ve done some of the work for you! Also, a nice rule of thumb is to put your own put backs in the designated return spots or back where you got it from. It’s a nice thing to do for the workers. One man’s pass is another man’s treasure! ❤️Happy thrifting! ❤️
