Finally back in the studio after a long bout of the cold virus (you can still hear me sniffling in this video).

Taught a No Carve Methods block printing class this morning.
This is the most experimental of all my classes. We printed using bubble wrap, Lego bricks, foam pieces, cork and packaging among other things.
I didn’t take many pictures because my hands were covered in ink, but it was so fun!

And that’s a wrap for Noctiluna camp 2026! We ended up diverting from portraiture quite a lot this week and built a lot of things from cardboard and tape today. Lots of games were played and snacks eaten. Good luck for the new school year campers! 😘

Almost done with Portraiture week. Today was a mixed bag of projects. The older kids worked into photos and the younger ones made paper collages of made up personalities! Everyone tried some mono printing again.

Contour and blind contour drawings at camp today. Some kids loved it, others found it challenging to not produce a perfect picture of themselves. We worked in wire too - more photos tomorrow!

One of the biggest challenges of running a small summer camp like mine is building differentiation into projects so that campers of different ages and abilities can all get the most out the same project. This self portrait project was taught to kids 5-12 years old, and I think they all produced really interesting and well thought out work.
