2011 - Ev and Coco

Who would have imagined that 15 years later, this sweet girl would be the artist behind the Evan’s Surf Co. logo? 🌊

What started as a childhood memory has become a beautiful full-circle moment.

Collette didn’t just design a logo. She helped bring Evan’s spirit, his love for the water, and his legacy to life.

Some connections are just meant to be. 💙

Sometimes I wonder if Evan can see me, watching as I continue living. I hope he would smile and say, “That’s my mom. She’s still carrying my story.”

I cannot change what happened, and I cannot make the empty space disappear. But I can remember him. I can speak his name. I can tell the stories that make me smile through the tears. I can remember the person he was when he walked this earth and the joy he gave so freely.

His life was more than the day I lost him. He was my son, my tiny one, a part of my world, and someone whose presence changed my life forever.

So, I will continue his story in the only way I can. Through memories. Through love. Through the stories I share. Through every moment when I choose to remember instead of letting time make him feel forgotten.

Continuing does not mean pretending everything is okay…it simply means carrying the love forward.

And if somewhere beyond what I can see he is watching, I hope he knows this: I am still here, and I will always carry his name and his story in my heart.

Three years ago today, we celebrated Evan’s short, full, and wild life.

At 15 years old, his time here was far too short - but the life he lived, the people he impacted, and the memories he left behind were anything but small.

Evan’s Surf Co. was born from that love…from missing him..from wanting his name, his spirit, and the way he lived life to keep making waves long after we said goodbye.

Every shirt worn, every sticker stuck somewhere new, and every person who shares his story helps us carry a piece of Evan forward.

What started in grief has become something we never could have imagined - a community helping us keep our boy’s memory alive while giving God the glory for carrying us through the unimaginable.

Three years later, we still miss him every single day. And we’ll keep saying his name. Keep telling his story. Keep making waves.

On August 20, we’re getting together at Sandbridge to celebrate Evan the way that feels right — at the beach, surrounded by good waves, good people, good vibes, and a whole lot of love.

Less than three months after we lost Evan, life changed again when Makayla was in an accident. Makayla may not be family by blood, but there has never been a distinction in our hearts. She is our sister, our niece, our friend—she is family in every way that matters.

Participating in Life Rolls On is deeply personal for all of us. We carry Evan with us in everything we do, and we stand beside Makayla as she continues to face a life she never expected with courage, determination, and strength.

After everything our family has been through, being surrounded by a community that celebrates possibility, inclusion, and the freedom of the ocean means more than we can put into words.

Life can change in an instant. We learned that twice in less than three months. But love doesn’t disappear when life changes. It shows up. It holds on. It adapts. And sometimes, it gets you back in the water. 🌊

For Evan. For Makayla. For our family. We keep rolling on. 💙
