Saturday, May 30th find us for a day of bluegrass music, nature trails, lawn games, and a curated group of makers from Phoenicia Flea. The weather is looking good 👍 so get your tickets if you haven’t already booked them. This is going to be a fun time in the Hudson Valley!

I recently had a conference in Athens, Greece and the poppies were in bloom all over the city. This symbol of remembrance is so beautiful to see in person.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,

Sewing 🧵 🪡 Sunday class today was so much fun! We loved 💕 the book, and the message about caring for our clothes. After that we covered some sewing basics…what’s the difference between a knit and a woven? How do they react when cut? How to lay out a pattern piece on the straight of grain/ how to recognize a selvidge. The different types of scissors one can use (we pinked our pieces). How to thread a needle, choose single or double strand sewing, and how to make a knot. How to finish hand sewing so the ends are buried between layers. The finishing touch was a yarn tassel! Everyone got to choose their fabric, their color thread, and their yarn. 🧶 It was so much fun to help them create their fabric bookmarks that will last for years to come!

*everyone was sent home with extra fabric to do mending and/or other projects at home 😊
