The Rib Baskets are built on two hoops. A horizontal hoop, crossed with a vertical hoop.
The weave where the hoops intersect, is called 'the Gods Eye'.
Here is two variations of the Gods Eye weave.
I never know which one I like best... which do you prefer?

Just finished pricing 175 baskets for the Anacortes, Wa. Art Faire the end of July.
One step closer to being ready... working on display ideas now. 🤦‍♀️💪😀

My 'weave 10 baskets a week' goal, has been abit compromised by the backyard pool being opened. 🤦‍♀️😀
In the last 2 weeks, Ive managed to get only 13 baskets woven for my stock, besides orders going out.
This brings my July Show total to around 150 baskets. 😍
Also... I found a few more tiny 5-6" hoops in my stash, so I finished up that small yellow reed.
I love those little yellow guys! 🤩

One of my favorite things about weaving for shows, is that I can weave creatively, and not according to order specs.
I found these 4 bamboo hoops in my stash, and have an idea...
This beautiful tote, will only be for purchase at The Art Fair in Anacortes the end of July.

As you know, Ive been prepping for a big 3 day art show on the Washington West Coast at the end of July.
Im so excited, but also have no idea how many baskets to take along! 🤦‍♀️
I set a goal for my self of 10 baskets a week up until the middle of July.

With the stock I already have on hand... that should get me to around 200 baskets total til show time.

Here is my 10 for this week.
They are all small, but I also wove and shipped out 8 basket orders... so Im ok with this! 💪😃
I need more stock in the lower price point range for my show, so these Weaves are perfect for busier weeks.

I found two tiny 5" hoops, and some small yellow reed in my stash. How cute is this palm size basket? 😘 This one will be sunshine!

This is the difference in a stained basket (bottom) and Un- stained basket (top).
My stained colors vary slightly, as I make my own batches, using pecan shells. I keep a tub of finished stain, and dip woven baskets into it for a warm brown hue finished.
Personally, I can never decide which look I prefer. They are both beautiful.

Last weeks Weaves waiting to be stained.
I make my own stain out of pecan shells. I keep a tub full of it in my back yard. When the weather is nice, I take the baskets out and dip them, then let them drip dry.
Today is the day. 👌😍

I buy whole cattle sides of leather and strip cut it into different widths for my leather basket handles. I usually dye the leather myself, this is the first I ordered a pre-dyed leather side. It is so handy! 🤦‍♀️😃
Today, Im cutting this into strips, and prepping for a weave class tomorrow.
