A Short Story About Me.
Title: The Things I Don’t Miss*
One thing about me: I move through life with a grateful heart and an eye for the details most people rush past.
I was raised to respect my elders. Not just with words, but with presence, the way I listen, the way I make room, the way I honor the wisdom that came before me. I believe in humanity. I believe in feelings. Even when I’m alone, I choose my actions carefully, because I know God is watching. Integrity isn’t for an audience. It’s for my soul.
To the little ones, I give the same respect I’d want for myself. Children deserve tenderness, patience, and to be spoken to like they matter, because they do.
I love my mom more than anything in this world. She’s my first example of strength, sacrifice, and grace. And I cherish my husband and the beautiful children we’re raising together. They are my why. My peace. My proof that love, when nurtured, multiplies.
That’s why I believe God keeps blessing me. Because I notice the little things. A glass of water brought without asking. A hug after a long day. A drawing left on the counter. I never let those moments pass. I always say, “Thank you. God bless you.” Gratitude is my daily language.
I don’t overlook the small stuff, because the small stuff is actually the big stuff. It’s how we tell the people around us, “I see you. You matter to me.”
And that, to me, is the secret: A grateful heart, a watchful eye, and a life lived like someone’s always watching… because He is.
