I have made Washington Island, Wisconsin my home since 1980 when I met my husband, who happens to be a 5th generation native Islander. I have dedicated the last 19 years to raising our three children who are now all in their teens. Our youngest has autism and we as a family have been helping him be the best he can be for the last 13 years. I studied Design with an emphasis in Jewelry and Metalsmit

hing at the University of Kansas from 1977-1980. I am inspired by nature, balance, color and the challenge of working metals. By using techniques such as soldering, smithing (hammering), cutting and piercing, patinating copper and incorporatng gemstones, my work encompasses a love of the creative spirit and accentuating a person’s own intrinsic beauty. In 1986 I opened my first jewelry shop and have been creating jewelry off and on since then. I feel a deep connection to the creative process and it keeps me happy and healthy in my everyday life.
