🐝🌷I reimagined the back of a cardigan for the Bugs & Blooms show at recently🦋

I found the lace-edged linen with the floral arrangement already on it. Someone lovingly painted & embroidered it quite a while ago; it felt like the perfect “window panel” to use for the focal point of my back patch. The bugs were cut from various fabrics and sewn on by hand, and the words were made by me. All pieces used to make this back piece are secondhand 🖤

I really enjoyed making this! Thanks .tirado for the prompt and asking me to be a part of the show. I’ve been so inspired by all the artists in my community, and have really felt motivated to create since being around creative folks more regularly 🫶🏼🧵🪡

🪡🧵 Come learn to sew a patch by hand at the April 11 at 1pm!

My second beginner friendly class for the year will have you leaving feeling confident to sew your own patches at home. No experience needed!

All materials will be provided, but feel free to bring a patch and the item you want it sewn onto, or just an item you want to add some flair to and I will have some patches to pick from

This event is free and open to the public - I do recommend coming at 1pm to get the full instructions, but if you’re running late, feel free to still pop in before 3!

In my first class we learned how to sew a button. I included some pics from the class (thanks & for taking them 🤓)

✨I made this pullover from vintage towels a couple years ago and it finally found at home at the Open House last night at !!

I took it these pictures shortly after making it and convinced to take it for a spin at the skate park. Somehow he still managed to make this pastel floral pullover hard ⛓️

I had never made something like this before; I very rarely make items from scratch or use patterns. Usually I’m re-making pre-existing items or collaging with textiles. This was made from a very 90’s pullover pattern

Making this was a challenge and a learning experience, and although I’m not sure I’ll do it again, I was so excited to see the happiness it brought to the adorable human who adopted it!
