After a lot of thought and many conversations, we’ve made the incredibly difficult decision to close the doors of Oconee Formal.

This decision comes with a heavy heart. The retail industry has changed so much over the past few years, with more and more shopping moving online, and it’s become increasingly difficult for a small, locally owned boutique to keep up. At the same time, my kids are growing up, their schedules are busier than ever, and they need me now more than ever. As bittersweet as this is, it’s time for me to focus on my family and continue my career in teaching.

Looking back, I can hardly believe what these last five years have been.

What started as a small dream and a hobby grew into something bigger than I ever could have imagined. We never set out to be the biggest boutique—we simply wanted to create a place where girls could find the dress for one of life’s special moments and leave feeling beautiful, confident, and celebrated. More than selling dresses, we wanted to create an experience.

I truly believe we accomplished that.

It has been one of the greatest honors to meet and work with so many incredible young women and families. From homecoming and prom to pageants, military balls, and so many unforgettable celebrations, thank you for allowing us to be a small part of your memories.

To everyone who shopped with us, shared a kind word, recommended us to a friend, or supported this little dream—thank you. Your encouragement, loyalty, and love meant more than you’ll ever know.

My hope is that whenever you think back on your Oconee Formal experience, it brings a smile to your face. ❤️

As we begin this next chapter, we also need to find new homes for the beautiful dresses and accessories that have filled our boutique. Be on the lookout this week as we’ll be announcing our closing sale dates. Everything must go, and this will be your chance to grab incredible deals while helping us close this chapter of Oconee Formal.
