Quilt 81

Richard Leonard was drafted after finishing college in 1970 and was sent to Vietnam after basic training. Rich was part of an army artillery unit and spent one year on a base called LZ Crunch in the Chu-Lai region. While there he was transported to Da-Nang to see a Bob Hope USO show. Rich, pictured with his wife Carol, was awarded a Quilt of Valor made by the Waupun Craft Center and machine quilted by Ruth Alsum. Thank you Richard for your service.

Quilt 80 was awarded to a deserving Veteran who served in the National Guard during the Vietnam years. His unit was sent to Madison twice for riot control. The Quilt of Valor was made by the Waupun Craft Center members and machine quilted by Judy Wyndham. We thank him for his service.

Quilt 79
Wally Riel enlisted in the U S Army and served from 1963 to 1966. He received his basic training at Ft Leonard Wood, MO. From there he received advance Signal Core training at Ft Monmount,
NJ. Wally was transferred to Germany where he served on several bases.

The Quilt of Valor awarded to Wally was made by the Waupun Craft Center and machine quilted by Jeanine Kremlin. Thank you Wally for your service.

Quilt 78
Lynn Tavs, pictured with his wife Fern, was awarded a Quilt of Valor made by the Waupun Craft Center.

Lynn enlisted in the Army and served from 1962 to 1965. After basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO he was sent to San Antonio, TX for training as an X-ray technician. Lynn served in France at three different bases as a technician. His quilt was machine quilted by Connie Hopper. We thank Lynn for his service.
