Types of Prints
Sublimation: A method of printing that transfers a design into a material or fabric using ink and heat. The ink sets into the garment and you cannot feel the design on the item at all. The ink is very specific as what it will adhere to so when you order an item that has a sublimated design, your item will be made up of polyester material. Sublimated ink works best with 50%+ polye
ster and each item will have the material contents listed. Items that are sublimated have a harder time showing up on dark materials, so most likely these designs will be offered on white, tan, or ash grey colored items. These items have to be washed a specific way or else the design WILL fade. Sadly, this is inevitable due to the fact that once the ink is reheated at all or washed with harsher chemicals, it begins to heat set the ink more and the design fades away. With proper care and following instructions of how to wash, you can get many wears out of your item! In order to properly take care of your sublimated item please use the following instructions as a guide.
- Wash garment inside out
- Machine wash cold
- Do not leave wet in washer to sit
- No Bleach
- No Fabric Softener
- Use gentle detergents
- Do not dry clean
- Do not iron
- Preferred to hang to dry but can also tumble dry on low heat
Direct to Garment (DTG): DTG stands for Direct-to-Garment, and refers to a method for textile printing. Unlike other textile printing methods, such as heat transfer or dye sublimation, DTG printing process uses specialized ink in order to print directly onto the garment, using a DTG printer. The fabric fibers soak up the ink, and become part of the garment. This technology enables creating garment prints that do not crack, peel or distort in other ways. Preferred washing instructions to ensure longer lasting product as follows:
Washing: - Turn shirt inside out. - Use cold water & wash with similar colors. - Wash on gentle setting. Drying: - Tumble dry on low or hang dry. Ironing: - If ironing is necessary, make sure to turn the garment inside out. Do Not: - Do not use bleach. Screen Print Transfers: Screen printed heat transfers offer an alternative to direct screen printing. Whereas traditional screen printing is produced directly onto the final substrate, heat transfers are manufactured by screen printing onto a carrier paper or film treated with a special release coating. This type of transfer can be felt on the garment. This type of transfer is NOT cricut vinyl and is a higher quality product. Preferred washing instructions to ensure longer lasting product as follows:
Washing: - Turn shirt inside out. - Use cold to warm water & wash with similar colors. Screen Printed Ink: This type of screen printing is another popular method, using a process that presses ink through a mesh screen in order to create a printed design. This type of print can be felt on the garment as well. Turnaround Time (TAT): To help broaden what I offer as a small business, I not only make my own items but I also work with other small businesses and vendors. Each item may have the possibility of having a separate TAT, which will be listed in the description. The only thing that this will effect is the possibility of items shipping separately to your home and arriving at different times. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to message me and I can give you a definite answer on if your items will be shipping separately or not. I do realize that sometimes customers need their items faster than what is described, if this is the case please message me and I will do my best to see if I can hurry the process and get you your item by the set date you require. I cannot promise that this will always be able to happen, but 95% of the time I am able to make this happen for you! Turnaround times can vary from 1-3 business days to 14-21 business days, so please pay attention to item description when ordering! Business days are week days only (M-F).. this means that holidays and weekend days are excluded from this and do not count towards the tat count down.. please take notice in this before messaging me asking why your item hasn’t shipped yet. Shipping: While working with separate vendors, I still do my best to make sure that your shipping costs are as little as possible. Once the package has left my hands and is left with the post office, I have zero control on delays or lost items. When ordering from me, you are agreeing to these terms and realizing that Better than PJs LLC is not liable for any damaged, lost, or stolen items. If you receive tracking but the package seems to not be updating, please message me and I will do my best to try and figure out what’s going on. During holiday seasons especially, post office employees can get overwhelmed with packages and forget/miss items while scanning.. leading to your package not getting updated with the tracking info that it should have. If you pay for expedited shipping, this only applies to when the item is dropped off at the post office.. this does not speed up the turnaround time of the item so please be aware of this before paying for this extra option. The business days listed in the item description will still remain true unless previously discussed and agreed upon by me. Unless the item is made by me specifically, I do not allow drop offs or pickups at my home.. all items ordered will be shipped directly to you at your home. If you order both items from me and from other vendors, you will have to pay shipping for items not made personally by Better than PJs LLC. Returns + Refunds: Returns/refunds are not accepted or given. The only time a return/refund is applicable is if the wrong size, color, or design is shipped or an item arrives damaged that is clearly from the vendor and not the post office or customer. Please realize that when each item ordered, unless otherwise stated, it is custom made to each individual order. Myself and majority of the vendors I work with are small businesses and do not have the supply/funding to bulk make items and garments. When you place your order, the item is custom made to whatever you choose.. please make sure you’re reading sizing descriptions and color options before ordering to avoid any type of dissatisfaction upon delivery of item. If you are eligible for a return/refund due to the item arriving damaged, you must message me within 24 hours of receiving said item. If you do not message with your concerns within that timeline I cannot promise I will be able to process the return due to not knowing if you damaged the item from wear and tear or if it was in fact shipped that way. If the wrong size, color, or design is shipped the item must remain unwashed and showing no signs of wear before the return will be accepted. If you truly have a huge issue with an item and aren’t sure if you meet the requirements, please just message me and I will do my best to help with your concerns!
