I know it’s been a little while since I’ve posted, and I apologize for being a little quiet around here! ❤️ Life has been busy lately, and I recently made a move to Siren. 🏡

Between getting settled into my new home and figuring out my new space, my time and workspace are going to be a little limited for a while. So, things may be a bit quieter around here than usual.

✨ Item of the Day: Handmade Tallow Lip Balm ✨

Today I’m highlighting one of my favorite products in my new handmade skincare line- the tallow lip balm!

When I started creating these, my goal was simple: make a lip balm with nourishing, quality ingredients and leave out the unnecessary fillers.

Ingredients:
🤍 Tallow
🐝 Beeswax
🌰 Sweet Almond Oil
🌿 Optional essential oils (Peppermint or Sweet Orange)
✨ Optional mica powder for the tinted varieties

Available Options:
🌱 Peppermint (regular or tinted)
🌱 Sweet Orange (regular or tinted)
🌱 Unscented (regular or tinted)

So, why tallow?

Tallow has been used in skincare for generations because of its nourishing properties. It’s rich in naturally occurring fatty acids and fat-soluble vitamins, and its composition is remarkably similar to our skin’s own natural oils. Because of this, many people find it deeply moisturizing while still absorbing well without leaving skin feeling overly greasy.
It’s a simple, time-tested ingredient that works with your skin, making it a wonderful choice for keeping lips soft, smooth, and hydrated.

I also chose each additional ingredient with a purpose:

🐝 Beeswax helps create a breathable barrier that locks in moisture and protects lips from drying out.

🌰 Sweet Almond Oil is lightweight and rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids, adding extra softness and conditioning.

🌿 Essential oils are only added for a light, natural scent and flavor in the peppermint and sweet orange varieties. If you prefer to keep things as simple as possible, the unscented version contains no essential oils.

I thought it would be fun to share a little more about each of my products, starting with my Whipped Tallow Body Butter.

This isn’t your typical lotion. Unlike many store-bought products that are mostly water and filled with preservatives, fragrances, and other unnecessary ingredients, this body butter is made with just a few simple, nourishing ingredients.

✔ Tallow
✔ Jojoba oil
✔ Optional essential oils for a light natural scent

Tallow is rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K and has a fatty acid profile that is remarkably similar to our skin’s natural oils. Because of this, many people find it deeply moisturizing without feeling overly greasy.

I created this body butter for those looking for a simpler, more natural option for dry skin without all the extra ingredients commonly found in conventional skincare products.
