Blue-green algae (cyanobacteria) can produce toxins that make people and pets sick. Choose clear water, rinse off after swimming, and keep pets from drinking or playing in suspicious water.

Did you know that pet waste is a common source of bacteria and nutrient pollution in urban waterways? This happens when owners don’t pick up after their pets and stormwater washes the p**p into our rivers and lakes. When this happens, the high concentrations of bacteria and nutrients can cause algal blooms, harm aquatic life, and impact the health of both humans and wildlife. Help us prevent stormwater pollution by always picking up after your pet. Visit respectourwaters.org to learn more.

🚤Our 2026 Boater Safety course students had the opportunity to join the Boater Safety Course instructors along with WI DNR Conservation Warden, Zach Feest, and Ron, Steve, and Mike from the Allenton Fire Department to learn how to be a safe boater in WI.

🛟It was an exciting, hands-on experience that brought everything learned in the class to life.

A huge thank you to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the Allenton Volunteer Fire Department for taking the time to share their knowledge, demonstrate safe boating practices, and give our students an unforgettable experience.

Also a big shout out to Kwik Trip in West Bend and Fleet Farm West Bend for gift certificates provided for class incentives and beverages during class.

We appreciate your partnership in helping our future boaters stay safe on the water!

Congratulations to ALL of our students who completed the course. 33 Students received a Boater Safety Certificate🎖️

Have a safe and fun summer on the water! ☀🌊
