Many dogs are called a “man’s best friend” and that’s exactly what I am! Before you apply for me, just know I am looking for a single person (male) owner.

I’m Hershel, and I’m sure you’ve seen me on here before, but I just haven’t quite found the right fit for me.

🐶 I'm a neutered Shnoodle weighing 78 lbs.
As they say the eyes hold the key to the soul, if only you could hear my thoughts you would understand me and my past...

Somehow I ended up at a high-kill shelter. Thank the lucky stars Almost Home came to my rescue. They invested so much in my board and training to help me be the best boy I can be and find the perfect home.

Right now I live with a wonderful foster dad, and I am exceptionally loyal to him. I wish I could stay here because it’s so much fun, but it’s just not the best timing and I understand that.

❤️ A home as the only pet, or possibly a calm large dog

Im Maddy… I was found running on a dirt road out in the country down south.
I had a friend with me. All of a sudden we both got trapped and we were on a truck. I didn’t know where we were going, but I was pretty much scared to say the least they took us to an overcrowded high kill shelter. It smelled real bad. It smelled like death to me they separated me and my friend. My friend was right across from me and we can see each other. We wanted to be with each other, but we can’t talk, so no one really understood what we were trying to tell people anyway sadly, my friend got adopted they look like a nice couple. I cried and tried to get some attention too, but people just seem to pass me by.

The days turned to weeks and finally a Volunteer took interest in me. She was really nice and she took me out in the yard and we played fetch. It was so much fun. They had a little pool there and I jumped in there and got all wet and she laughed real hard and said I’m really funny and fun to be with.

I think she’s going to take me home. But that wasn’t the case. She took me back into the building and put me back into my steel crate. I didn’t feel like eating much so they took my food away and then late at night I got real hungry, but I didn’t have any food just water.

Almost Home was doing a Transport and the Volunteer there told Almost Home about me. She said some really nice things about me because next thing I knew it I was on the list to go to Transport to Almost Home. I was so excited because everyone here knows about Almost Home and they all wanna go there. Well I missed the Transport and I cried. I don’t know how that happened. Everybody was juggling everything and it was such a big mess. Seems like no one knew what they were doing, but in the nick of time that Volunteer saw that I was left behind, she drove to the van and got me on there and here I am and Almost Home living the life. I’m such a good girl that’s what everybody says and I try real hard to be as perfect as I can be. Here’s some things about me.

💕 I have the sweetest disposition
💕 my foster mama is so nice. She says I’m a really good girl. In fact, she said I’m perfect.
💕 I weigh about 42 pounds
💕 I look like I’m part Scotty, Schnauzer, and maybe a little bulldog.
💕 mom says it’s a great combination because Scotty’s are chill, schnauzers are smart and Bulldogs well their just funny.lol
💕 I am a real cuddler. I love my people and I love my foster fur siblings too.
💕 I’m completely potty train
💕 I’m food motivated
💕 I would do really well in training not that I need it, but I guess I would be extra perfect if I had some training
💕 I like men and I like women and I like kids. Probably kids 10 and up.
💕 i’m about five or six years old

It's important you understand the type of home I need when you apply for me. I truly enjoy the company of a man, and a single-person home would be ideal. As they say, a dog is a man's best friend and in my case, it's true!
