This weekend we escaped the farm for a few hours and went to the llama The Gathering show. It was local...so why not?! So many beautiful llamas...not like our guard llamas who are sometimes friendly and often dirty. LOL

Their ribbons were beautiful and I loved the championship banners!! Unlike showing alpacas...they get to wear fancy and "bling bling" halters! Ok...so we got one for our llamas....not that they will ever go in the show ring... 😂

One farm had a cool margarita stand!! Reminds me of going to the Buckeye show in Ohio and my stall neighbors there always have a "slushie" machine. Llama people know how to have fun too!

Another weekend of guests through Harvest Hosts ! Thank you to everyone for choosing us.

We got to see a different RV....we have had HUNDREDS come through but this one was a first....the Hero Edition Cougar....painted Army green. Driven by a veteran of course (thank you for your service!). He let us know a donation is made to the Wounded Warrior Project for each of these that are purchased. The outside was tough looking....the inside...very classy and pretty.

Safe travels everyone and we hope our paths cross again!

Through Harvest Hosts we have been so blessed to meet so many wonderful people....and John, Cathy, and of course Sailor are on that list!

They stayed with us and we were chatting and John mentioned he repurposes old wood for fun. As it turned out we were cleaning out the various workshops on the farm that belonged to my late father. And in one building were some beautiful pieces of barn board as well as some rough cut Hickory. My dad was going to do something with them but unfortunately never did. So we loaded up John's truck with all kinds of lumber.

We felt great about it going to someone who would use it and appreciate it for what it was. Well....the heartwarming feeling was returned....

Yesterday a box arrived. And inside was the kindest note from John and Cathy (and of course Sailor....who is their dog by the way). And inside....three of the most amazing pieces of art....all made from my dad's wood...by John.

These will be cherished.....and there is not enough thanks that can be given.

John, Cathy, and Sailor....I hope our paths cross again. In today's world of negativity and bad times....there are still amazing people. Thank you so much!

We had a great Harvest Hosts guest from my favorite place.... Kentucky! They stopped on their way to Yellowstone and enjoyed of course the alpacas and the quiet of the country, a beautiful sunset, fireflies, and the stars. Have a great vacation and stop again!
