We just wrapped up this conversion on a beautiful pair of Crockett & Jones loafers, taking them from a single leather sole to a rugged Genuine Dainite rubber setup.

To ensure the classic British silhouette remained balanced, we added a custom thin leather midsole. This not only adds a layer of durability but gives the shoes that perfect “English Country” profile.

These Vintage Florsheim Imperials are built like tanks, but the customer needed them to handle the real world. We’ve replaced the original, slick leather soles with a durable Vibram rubber outsole.
