This one came to me already started. Swipe for what I was working with.
Bloodlines are supposed to be light, light enough to disappear into the shading later. These were dark, and in a few places darker than the tone that spot was supposed to end up. The lines through the mane weren’t clean either, so a lot of that had to be broken up and reworked into fur rather than covered.
The crosses at the bottom were already solid black. You can’t lighten black, so they stay black, what I could do was build a sky behind them so they read as a silhouette instead of a flat shape.
