Behind the library in the lower shelter this Friday. Come out for fellowship and respite w/ our community. Bring a dish to share if able, if not come eat anyway. 🙂 Bring your guitar, banjo, drum, or even your tuba to jam along. 😁

My birthday is coming up on the 16th, I'll be 56. Since I can't get FB to agree w/ me on the whole 'for my bday this year I've chosen, yadda yadda' so I'm just gonna post it here on my timeline.
I'd absolutely love it if you'd give to Jefferson Odd Fellows Lodge #38 here in Ashe County. Our local IOOF has been doing their share, and then some, of charitable work for many years. From helping locals w/ bills to making sure another has food, to building, to outreach to the sick, they do it all. RIGHT NOW they need our help, and I can't think of a more Humanitarian outreach locally sustained and actively participating w/ our community.
Each month they also have a 'pay what you can' Pancake Breakfast'
The next one is Sept. 14th.
If you can't get out for pancakes you can always support them w/ virtual pancakes over at their website (through Paypal).
Remember, every $ you can offer will help our local Oddfellows continue their great work helping our neighbors in need here in Ashe County.

These were a fun experiment. The ribbing takes dye really well. So I dyed them together back-back to creating a rainbow effect (which btw was an unexpected joy, did I mention this was an experiment?). I'd love to sell them to a couple or a set of BFFs.

Spreading Rainbows ~ Handmade Hippie Style Tie~Dyes

Truth be told I like anything even semi rainbow. Rainbows make me smile!

But Tie~Dyes are so expensive; seems you can't get a decent tie~dye for under $20 (unless you get all your decent ones from thrift stores like I do).

That said, a lot of my shopping, for things we might need, comes from thrift stores and the occasional yard sale. I simply don't often have much cash on hand, w/ my disabilities and all. Today might be a really good day, tomorrow I might be run over w/ my back, hips, ankle pains or it might be a deeply anxiety ridden day when the best I can do is hang on social media and sleep. It's hard to keep work, at all for that matter, when you don't know what the next day brings.

However, I'm a fighter!! I push forward every day the best I can. I live my life by grace and gratitude and I try to live it in LOVE.

To me, the best visual representation of love we have ever had, aside from a beautiful smile, has been the beautiful rainbows and splashes of color we see everyday; not just your usual prism of rainbow that we're ALL familiar w/ but colorful beauty of all kinds.

What better way to spread beauty and love than w/ cheap, yet professional quality TIE~DYES!!!

Not long back I had an epiphany of sorts. I'd been suffering a spiral in the darkness of depression for easily over a year. All the symptoms were there in my face but I'd been in such deep denial over it that I hadn’t been able shake it; I wasn’t really facing it head on, I was trying to function around it instead of walking through it.

It took a friend smacking me in the face w/ the obvious "Chris that's depression" to wake me back up. I don't know why I felt that wake up call as deeply as I did but what I can tell you is I heard the next thought, voice, loud and clear.

REVERSE THE SPIRAL, START SPREADING RAINBOWS!!! ..and well; I listened.

What better way to reverse a dark depressive spiral than to create bright, vibrant rainbow spirals w/in my own life and for you?

So here it is, an endeavor I hope can become something so much more.

SPREADING RAINBOWS ~ Handmade Hippie Style Tie~Dyes

At present I don't have a lot of stock and when these are gone that's it until I can get more shirts and supplies to do another batch. That’s where you come in.

I’ve set this new endeavor/biz up w/ ALL shirts available at the base cost ($10 for any size smaller than large, large^^ mostly $15 - prices may vary). Base amounts are fixed and if you’re only interested in the purchase of a beautifully Handmade Hippie Style Tie~Dye then that’s WONDERFUL!! However, any amount you feel lead to share above that amount is greatly appreciated and will go to help me continue w/ this biz start up (and of course w/ ongoing expenses).

It is my sincere hope to continue to have the funds to keep "Spreading Rainbows" and, as well, be able to take care of my regular bills (like school clothes for my cherub, hardware for different household projects, the occasional album for a friend, car parts, general life expenses etc.) along the way.

I love you all and I appreciate your support toward my recuperating mental/spiritual health and toward the well-being of my little family.
