Do you have a favorite hymn? This is one of my favorites that has been circling my brain for the last week. I collect hymnals (pic in the comments!) and this great song, originally written in 1917, is only found in 2 of the books I own.
The last verse paints such a beautiful picture of the boundless nature of our Creator’s love!
🎶“Could we with ink the ocean fill
and were the skies of parchment made,
were ev’ry stalk on earth a quill
and ev’ry man a scribe by trade,
to write the love of God above
would drain the ocean dry;
nor could the scroll contain the whole,

Proof that the cozy creative space of your dreams doesn’t come from a big-box store—it comes with a story. 🧵✨

Almost everything in my studio workspace has been thrifted, rescued, or repurposed over time. That large white shelf unit on the left was actually saved from a friend’s country home just before it was torn down, giving it a second life to hold stacks of vintage textiles and quilts.

My thimble shelf was found at one of my favorite treasure hunting spots, Oliver Grace & Company. After some research I learned that it had a past life as storage for military documents and maps from the late 1800s. It’s amazing to me how something so rough and utilitarian can be repurposed in a soft, feminine way. 💖

Decorating a used space with secondhand finds adds so much soul. Whether it’s an old wooden sewing machine drawer filled with mismatched buttons, vintage wire baskets holding embroidery hoops, or lace trim layered over wooden shelves, these pieces bring history and character into the room every day.

When you surround yourself with items that have a past, your space stops being just a room and starts feeling like a sanctuary. 🌿

🌹What’s in a name?🌹

When I began using vintage quilts in my sewing I loved day dreaming about the person (or people) that made them. Each of these gorgeous pieces of history have their own style and personality so it was clear to me that they also needed a name that was all their own.

💖 Every now and then I’m able to make something for myself.

This sweet little chenille goose appliquéd to a butter yellow tee was all done by hand one afternoon! The bow around its neck is a child’s shoelace from the 70s and its wing is a feed sack quilt piece I had sitting in my scrap pile. ✂️🪡
