Des Moines friends, as you're doing your holiday shopping, please come by and say hi at the Local Holiday Makers Market at the Valley Community Center in West Des Moines on Saturday, December 6th from 9-3. I'm so thrilled to be part of this show this year after being on the wait list the past couple years, until the center was recently enlarged. I'm #98 in the new Bridges Center addition, and there are 104 other crafters too and free admission.
With the snow yesterday, nearby Valley Junction has rescheduled their Small Business Weekend to next weekend too.
Here's a sampling of the variety of newborn to child handknit hats and crowns I'll have for sale! Hope to see you there!

Friends,
If you've been following our young actors, dancers, authors, illustrators and musicians lately check channel 13, our local NBC station, during the early morning news tomorrow. It runs from 4:30 to 7, but Megan Salois said that her Scholastic Spotlight story on Treasure Trunk Theatre should be on around 6:00. Then we have a pair of classes this week at Taylor Education Center and look forward to Des Moines Playhouse and Adventure Clubhouse of the Playhouse bringing interactive plays to all the students in the four buildings we've served this fall in January.
We are looking for donors who could help this program continue after our grant expires in the spring. The consistent comment we keep getting from teachers and administrators is that their children would never have this theatrical experience without us and the joy we experience with them is contagious. Please let me know or contact the Playhouse if you feel so moved to help.❤️

Only 1 week left before Advent starts!!Are you looking for something extra to help your kids or grands count down to Christmas? I have 3 sets of these unique Advent Calendar squares left on sale for $30 each!
You can fill each square with a little treat and then use as an ornament or spread out opening bigger gifts over the month. When we weren't getting together a few years ago, I added a special coupon every 5 days or so to open up a gift. My kids liked that so there wasn't a gift overload all at once later in the month and the older grands requested it so they could enjoy their goodies sooner.
I have still have 2 sets in these traditional red and green and 1 set with sparkly red and green left. The sheet on the box is a suggestion for you. Please dm me if you're interested, local deliveries only, thanks!

Friends, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here as I practice setups for my booth at Ankeny Art Center's Santa’s North Pole Village Craft Show this Saturday from 9-4.
I'll be in my usual spot at Northview Middle School on the east balcony, #215.
The Advent Calendar squares have been very popular with my oldest granddaughters and with other families wanting to count down to Christmas together. I put little surprises in most of the pockets and
I have added a note for their bigger gifts that they could open every 5 days or so. It was perfect during lockdown, but now my kids have requested that we continue that to spread out the fun over the month.
I'll be posting more later and showing my almost 100 infant and kids unique hats! Please come see me!
