History
✨ “The Parlor Table Cake Stand” ✨

Circa 1900–1920 | Early American Pressed Glass

At the turn of the 20th century, pieces like this glass pedestal were made for the heart of the home—the parlor. This is where visitors were welcomed, where tea was poured, and where a simple cake became an occasion.

With its elegant scalloped rim and intricate floral and geometric patterning, this stand would have held sponge cake, fruit tarts, or delicate pastries set out on a lace-covered table. Sunlight from tall windows would catch the pressed glass, scattering soft reflections across the room while conversations lingered and time slowed.

Pressed glass of this era was prized for its beauty and accessibility—ornate enough to feel special, yet practical enough for everyday use. Each motif was carefully designed to mimic the look of hand-cut crystal, allowing households to enjoy refinement without extravagance.

The whimsical storytelling:

💗 “The Valentine’s Day Cake Stand” 💗

Circa 1900–1915 | Approximately 110–125 years old

This glass pedestal has been quietly celebrating love for well over a century.

Imagine a February afternoon sometime around 1910. A small kitchen is warm despite the winter chill, and a simple sponge cake—perhaps lightly dusted with sugar or topped with berries—is lifted carefully onto this very stand. It’s Valentine’s Day, but not the kind filled with cards and candy aisles. This is a softer kind of romance: handwritten notes, shared tea, and a cake meant to be admired before it’s ever cut.

The scalloped edge, shaped like gentle hearts or flower petals, feels perfectly suited for the occasion. The intricate pressed-glass pattern, full of floral and geometric detail, would have caught candlelight or afternoon sun, adding a quiet sparkle to the table. Nothing flashy—just thoughtful, intentional beauty.

Pressed glass like this was designed to bring elegance into everyday homes. While fashions changed and decades passed, this stand endured—moving from one table to another, from one generation’s celebrations to the next. It has already witnessed more Valentine’s Days than we can count.

Christmas Sundae Shoppe of 1954 (with Vintage Sundae Glasses)

Bring home the charm of a 1950s holiday soda shop with this one-of-a-kind Christmas arrangement, built inside a copper bucket and centered around two authentic vintage glass sundae cups (classic fluted design, heavy pedestal base). These mid-century glasses once sparkled on an old soda fountain counter, serving peppermint sundaes and holiday treats.

Paired with a silver-plated vintage ice cream scoop, a 1970s angel figurine, bottle-brush trees, frosted branches, bells, and a crescent-moon Santa, this piece recreates the magical feel of a snowy soda shop in 1954.
