Well… the button room and I had a little chat, and it turns out I’m not in charge anymore. It’s happened again—too many buttons! (there is such a thing) So it’s time to start sharing, with both small and larger lots.

As always, my single button listings will mainly be available on the website, while multi-button groupings and larger lots will be making their way to eBay.

I’ve already begun listing some this week, and I’ll be adding more as I sort through what can only be described as a very enthusiastic accumulation.

There are some great deals to be had—perfect for adding to your own collection or for resale.

Happy hunting!

How lovely is this order heading off to its new home? ✨

This collector and I clearly share the same weakness—Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Scarce Division 1 Glass, and all things that sparkle 😊

This beautiful grouping includes:
• A very scarce metal-bound Division I opalescent glass button
• A striking Art Deco silver button with channel-set green and pavĆ© pastes, finished with delicate filigree work
• A hand-hammered Arts & Crafts era silver
• A Liberty-style Art Nouveau enamel
• Camphor glass with turquoise blue accents
• Georgian and Victorian pastes—and more

Every piece is special, and together they make such a wonderful collection. All other individual images are buttons that are either available on Silver Street, are part of my collection, or have sold.

All were found at https://www.silverstreetbuttons.com/
Feel free to stop by and see what else is waiting to be discovered. The site is updated several times a week with fresh finds, so there’s always something new to explore!

Over the past five years or so, I’ve gone down quite the rabbit hole researching hunt and sporting buttons—an area that once didn’t interest me much at all. That has definitely changed.

One of the greatest thrills is being able to actually identify the club behind a button… and that just happened in the most exciting way.

I currently have an incredible 18th-century silver hunt button up for auction on eBay, and by sheer luck, I connected with Tudor, a leading authority on hunt buttons. Thanks to his insight, I learned that this piece originates from the Royal Caledonian Hunt Club, established in 1777.

When I looked it up and saw the club’s emblem—a fox paired with a thistle—it was exactly the same design on the button. A moment of pure collector excitement!

What was already a beautiful and rare button instantly became something far more meaningful. Knowing its origin, its history, and the story it carries… that’s everything.

These are the moments that make collecting so rewarding.

Quick cleaning tip for the backs of porcelain buttons.
Porcelain is a very porous material and because of that, when left unglazed is exposed to all sorts of dirt and grime. Most often the backs of porcelain buttons are filthy because of this. The majority of these pretty painted porcelain buttons have stud backs and it's the same scenario....
Grab a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, or even a generic brand. Works like a charm each and every time with minimal effort and no water needed in most cases.
