☀Summer Art Weeks 2025 - Art in Dunchurch ☀
Artist Spotlight - Jane Archer
Whenever I think of Jane, I picture stunning Agapanthus blooms! I still remember a breathtaking painting she created of these beautiful flowers - it truly captured their essence. This will be my third year sharing the Inglenook Garden with Jane, and I always look forward to wandering over to her display to discover her newest creations.
Jane is a painter who has a light, airy studio in Toft on the edge of Dunchurch where she paints watercolours imbued with colour and light. Blossoms and blooms, textural landscapes, wide skies and rugged coastlines, in fact anything that catches her eye. She is inspired by the beauty of Warwickshire, the countryside around her and the changing seasons which she finds a much needed balm for the soul.
Jane first discovered watercolour after spending time living in France where she was inspired by a teacher who was a great admirer of the english watercolourists. She has always loved the slightly random effects that happen with watercolour, and can happily play around with colours and water for hours on end. She is also beginning to experiment with other media and is striving to push into new directions with a fresh approach.
Jane is also a qualified teacher, and welcomes pupils to her studio for occasional workshops and lessons. At Art in Dunchurch she will be exhibiting original paintings, prints, cushions, cards and gifts.
If you get the chance, watch her at work - she often sits and paints during the exhibition, which is a delight to observe! Her work has a lightness and freshness that truly evokes emotion - a special talent that shouldn't be missed.
