One of you nominated them back in July! 🦉

When we asked which local businesses treat you like family, Run Moore was one of your answers. This week Ryan Samuelson from Run Moore and our own Ryan made it official at the shop, and we could not be more excited!

Steve Moore opened Run Moore in downtown Westminster back in 2014. After his second son was born, he needed new running shoes and had no time to leave Carroll County for a good pair. So he opened a store right here in town!

Every fitting starts with them asking how you run, what hurts and what you are working toward. Then they do a free gait analysis and scan your feet in 3D. The scanner measures your exact size, width and arch type. It even shows where you put the most pressure.

You do not have to be a runner either. They help nurses, teachers, hairdressers and anyone else who spends all day on their feet. No appointment or purchase is needed for a scan.

The Adidas Adios Pro 5 has been one of the most picked-up shoes on our wall, and it’s easy to see why.

What stands out is the carbon plate. Instead of a full plate, it wraps around the shoe like a horseshoe. You still get some forward push, but it also holds you in place. A lot of racing shoes feel so soft and bouncy that you end up off balance. This one feels more stable than most.

Adidas built it for the half and the full marathon, and that’s where I think it makes the most sense. For a longer race, I want a carbon shoe that works with my stride instead of changing it.

Our Halloween Pub Run is back, and this one should be a good time.

One of my favorite Pub Runs of the year is coming up this Thursday! We're combining a few miles, some ridiculous costumes, good drinks, and a little friendly competition.

Thursday, October 22 @ 6pm
📍 Run Moore - 28 W. Main Street, Westminster

We'll head out for a 2- or 4-mile run (or walk) through Downtown Westminster before heading over to Serras for drinks and our annual costume contest.

ASICS is joining us! They'll have the Novablast 6, GT-2000 15, and Superblast 3 available to demo. Sizes and quantities are limited, so get here early if you want to try a pair.

And yes, there are prizes for the costumes!

1st Place Individual: Free pair of eligible ASICS shoes
2nd Place Individual: Run Moore T-shirt + beanie
3rd Place Individual: $15 Run Moore gift card

Best Group Costume: Free drink or side from Serras + an LMNT packet for each winning group member!

We've seen some pretty creative costumes over the years, so I'm curious to see what everyone comes up with this time. The more ridiculous, the better. Just make sure you can actually run in it.

Costumes are completely optional, by the way. If you just want to get a few miles in, try some shoes, and hang out afterward, that's perfectly fine too.

Happy Sunday!

First, congrats to all the runners who competed in yesterday’s Baltimore Running Festival or right here at the Frank Schaeffer 5K! Despite the wind, it looked like a grand time was had by all.

I also wanted to give a shoutout to our own Stephen Peters, who’s celebrating his birthday today! Right now, he’s out on the golf course, where he is a stone-cold killer. Stephen also the most fashionable of our group, which unfortunately has made me actually think about my outfits each day.

If you get the chance, make sure to spend some time outside today. I hit the trails this morning and, despite a chilly start, logged some great miles and enjoyed some lovely flora and fauna along the way.

If you’re in need of anything, you know where to find us. We’re open today from 10–3.

Today marks TEN STRAIGHT YEARS of running every single day for Christina Ogle, Westminster’s Iron Lady!

On October 14, 2016, milk cost a nickel, gasoline was free, and dinosaurs still roamed the streets of Westminster.

Okay, maybe it wasn’t THAT long ago, but ten years without missing a single day of running is pretty remarkable!

For comparison, Cal Ripken Jr., Baltimore’s legendary Iron Man, played in 2,632 consecutive baseball games. Christina has now run 3,653 CONSECUTIVE DAYS!

Christina’s running journey actually began a few years before her streak. She started walking for exercise and eventually challenged herself to run to the next stop sign, then the next, and the next. Her original motivation? Getting home faster so she could eat breakfast!

Those little bursts of running eventually turned into her first 5K. In October 2016, she started running every day. When she later read about a holiday running streak challenge, she realized she’d already gotten a head start.

So she kept going. And going. And going.

Ten years later, she hasn’t missed a day!

Almost all those runs have been in Altra Running, and in true Iron Lady fashion, Christina was already out running at 4 a.m. this morning to keep her streak alive!

Christina also happens to be the Branch Manager at the Westminster Branch of the Carroll County Public Library, just down Main Street from us.

So if you see Christina around town or at the library, give Westminster’s Iron Lady a high five!

Congratulations, Christina, on an absolutely incredible accomplishment!

Rain, rain, go away!

Just enjoying a relaxing Sunday morning with my coffee, my Sprints running hat, and approximately three inches of rain.

Fortunately, Sprints makes some pretty great running gear! From bright, fun patterned hats featuring everything from animals to outright silliness, to car seat covers that are perfect for keeping your seats dry after a rainy run.

Those seat covers are great for wet butts. Even wet dog butts, as Luca was kind enough to demonstrate.

It’s another glorious Saturday in downtown Westminster, with oysters, shopping, and fun aplenty!

What a great afternoon at the Carroll Community College Foundation Scholarship Reception! I was honored to be one of today’s donor speakers and share a little about why supporting college athletics and opportunities for local students means so much to me.

I’m especially excited about the new track and can’t wait to get out there for a run! What an awesome addition to Westminster. We’re lucky to have two colleges right here in town offering cross country and track and field, both with newly updated tracks!

Proud to have Run Moore be a small part of what Carroll is building. Go Lynx!
