The pattern for the quilt along is “Granny’s 1930 Sampler” by Ricky Timms. It can be ordered from Amazon, The Quilt Show store, or Ricky Timms online store for $29.95. If you prefer, a kit is available including 28 yards of fabric plus the pattern book for $359. Order soon so you get it on time. You may check to see if a quilt shop near you has it in stock.
We will make one block per week except for the most difficult blocks. The block to be made will be posted on oceansidequiltstudio on Facebook and I will send emails on Mondays. There are 42 blocks with complex borders making a queen size quilt. You do not have to get the kit. You may use fabrics from your stash or specific colors you choose.
The week will start on Mondays and everyone’s blocks should be finished and pictures posted to my email by Sunday evening. Email me if you would prefer not to have your photos shown on Facebook. I look forward to seeing how unique each person’s quilt will be.

I finished a giant quilt with matching shams for my mom's 92nd birthday. Still need to finish Grandson's graduation quilt and one for granddaughter who graduated before I started quilting seriously (a wedding quilt which has been very delayed).
Currently, I am nearly finished with a batch of child size masks for the post office plus another side project. Then I am ready for some serious quilting!
Anyone needing a Christmas quilt or a Christmas gift quilt has to connect with me to get it ordered by September 30th. I have several shirts made and lots of ideas for more.

Feeling good about getting back to quilt making after creating and delivering 250 face masks for my community, family, and friends. A huge thank you to the post office, my daughter, and many other mask users who made donations which offset some of the cost of fabric and thread.

My current project is a summer quilt for my mom. I discovered that ordering a second package of 10 inch squares to match what I already had brought fabric from the same line, but with some different colors. Interesting. Now I know to order more than one package at the same time, from the same vender if I plan to match the fabrics on a very large quilt.

Back to the cutting table! Have a happy day.

The sunshine is making me want to go outside when I need to work!
My latest venture is to add quilt related t-shirts and mugs to the studio as soon as all the materials arrive. It is exciting to gain new skills and have more to offer! Hopefully, my skill will meet my imagination.

My goodness, I have been so busy making masks that current quilting projects have been put on hold until I am done. Just thought I should check in so you don't think I disappeared.
Obviously, I will not be having classes or groups or in studio sales until it is safe to quit isolating. Please stay safe! If you must go out where someone could potentially cough on you wear a mask with a good filter and wear gloves. If you have any symptoms at all stay home. Stay home anyway. Let's stop the spread of the virus.
I am excited that Mama B's will be open for food pickup again and new pastries!

The food could not have been better! Hash browns were perfectly cooked and not a bit greasy and my omelet was full of vegies and yummy. Hubby's biscuits were light and fluffy. He also was happy with the rest of his breakfast. Considering this is only their second day open, the service was just fine. Prices are surprisingly lower that expected. We will definitely be going back soon to try out the lunch menu.👍
