The assorted mostly liftarm lighters feature British and American brass coins - silver coins and military buttons for decoration. Please look carefully to view all the various liftarm mechanism designs.

Polimeni was a master of machining excess war material especially by adding coins as ornaments.

Shown are 18 Alberto Polimeni art deco 1940's aluminum - steel chrome and brass "Walking Liberty" US half dollar silver coin pocket petrol lighters. The machine age art deco hexagon body designs have slightly different details with mostly wheel wick mechanisms. The US 50 cent half dollar Walking Liberty silver coin is my favorite Polimeni coin version.

Coin World

The 3 trays feature 44 Alberto Polimeni 1940's silver "Coin" desk and pocket petrol lighters. The lighters are mostly decorated with Thaler silver coins along with 2 aluminum models. Notice i have numerous duplicates. The Polimeni lighter factory were experts at decorating petrol lighters with coins from all over the world.

Red - White and Blue

Shown is a rare 1940's Alberto Polimeni clear Perspex pocket petrol lighter. The solid Perspex [similar to Lucite] lighter features a red- white-blue reverse painted V for victory from WW2.

The Polimeni lighter factory fabricated the most important 1940's wartime petrol lighters.
