Due to the forecast of rain, we unfortunately have to make the call to cancel this year’s Wacky Wave Surf Contest. It was a hard decision to make as this is our favorite day of the summer! It looks like the rain might be done by midday, but there is a lot of setup that needs to happen beforehand. And DJ equipment and generators in the rain aren’t a great mix. Amazingly, this is only the third time in 29 years that we’ve had to cancel the contest. And only the 2nd time due to weather. In 2006 we had a sunny day but couldn’t get in the water due to an influx of sea nettles! Sorry, we don’t have a rain date built into our schedule. Hold on to those costumes-we’re already looking forward to our 30th year!

Here comes the 29th annual Wacky Wave Surf Contest! Saturday August 22 at Rambler Road. Wear a costume and surf silly! Age groups, tandems, and push-ins. Prizes for best tricks. Music all day. $20 entry fee. Registration 10-11:30. Contest starts at noon. Proceeds benefit the Woody Hall surf scholarship. Hope to see you there!🤙🏽🤙🏽
